fitted my new clutch ...took battary off , drive shaft ,gearbox then fitted my clutch put every thing back as it should and bled the clutch through went to drive out my garage at home NO PAS

... now this was fine b4 i started and i didnt go any where near the power steering could it be something to do with the brain (comp) on the car the PAS fluid is fine ??????????

Strange you could have caught a wire or pipe and not noticed on removal or refitting or you could try to re pressure the system if that can be done by turning the steering wheel lock to lock till the power steering works long shot but might work

tried to put lock on several times both left and right but still no joy had the car on the ramps cant see any damage to wires ect, i was told that maybe it could be because the gearbox oil is low from when i took it off and that if i fill the gearbox up with fresh oil it might work but then i was told it might not ,very confuseing! will fill it anyway on monday i hope this works but cant see that it will coz cant see any pumps going from the gearbox to P/S
DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT IT MIGHT BE PLEASE

Can you confirm that the fan belt is in place, and that the power steering fluid reservoir is at the correct level please?

Also, did you remove the battery prior to doing any work, or not?

fan belt in place fluid fine but did DISCONECT the battary just b4 we started so we could get to the gearbox this is what we did
(power steering fine)
1.disconected battary and took it out
2.wheel off drive shaft out on passanger side
3.gearbox off
4.clutch out new 1 in
5.gearbox back on
6.driveshaft back in on pass side
7.drivers side wheel off then pulled driveshaft on drivers side in gearbox(this was the easier way to get the other drive shaft in
8.drivers side wheel back on
9.bled the clutch
10. battary connected
(now no power steering)
im stuck and just dont know what it could be

well i got my power steering working now by fluke im sure

, went to start the car didnt start, the starter moter didnt kick in so got a couple of people to give me a push ,pushed it and it started fine power steering back on aswell (STRANGE) could this fault be a dogey starter moter or some thing to do with the battary maybe as to why my power steering didnt work in the fist place??? ANY ONE KNOW PLEASE LET ME KNOW THANKS
