Made a lot of sense and good to hear different viewpoints, think if we were talking track the expense would be justified.

That to me is the thing mate. You're never going to get your car anywhere near as stressed on the road as you would a track, so unless you were doing regular track days, or it was a track-based car, genuine is just as good.
