Default oil warning light

Hi all
I have a problem with the oil warning light flickering when the car is up to normal running temp and at low speed, when cold its ok, the trip comp says check the oil level, which I have and its full? The car is a 2000 Vectra cd, Has anyone had this fault or know whats causing the problem?

The oil pressure sensor, and the MIDs oil level sensor are two different circuits. So, I would be suspecting your oil level straight away, as the likelihood of both failing at the same time is slim.

Are you certain your oil level is correct, with the engine cold, and the car on a perfectly level surface?

If the oil level is good (it needs to be on the max mark, or the highest point on the dipsticks cutouts), then you can consider replacing both sensors. The oil level sensor the MID (your computer display) will require the oil sump to be removed in order to sort replacement.

What engine is it?

Thanks for your help guys, I think I will change both sensors as the car is 10 years old.
