Exclamation 2.6 v6 starting problem

Hi im new to the site so my apologies if this problem is posted elsewhere

i have recently bought a x reg 2.6 vectra and now im having a intermittant starting prob. - some times it takes ages to start, the engine is turning just wont fire straight away sometimes it wil take 10 -20 seconds to start, this happens when engine is hot and cold but sum times it starts first time with no hesitation (has me baffled).when it has trouble starting if i pump the throttle it starts quicker than if i just tried to start it normal however this only works sumtimes

It might be that the car needs servicing new plugs etc as i didnt get any service history im unsure.i no it has had a new coilpack but thats about it to be honest.
I havnt had it on diagnostics and ther are no eml lites im just trying to avoid additional costs as im skint with no job at the mo
so any advice is much appreciated. Cheers

I would remove the idle control valve, and give it a good clean. It might be affecting the starting of the car.

I would strongly advise you get the codes read from your engine ecu before proceeding further though.
