Default CDX woes - general update and moan + questions

Grrr this cdx is testing my patience at times lol

Took me 3 hours on sunday to get the steering wheel off, in order to replace with mint 3 spoke, damn that thing was tight, ended up drilling through it and using two long m6 bolts with nuts on the back as a puller.
Even with that in place, I really had to strain with my spanners to tighten the puller - it got to the point when I was beginning to feel close to stripping and m6 thread out or shearing the bolts. Eventually it came and boy was I pleased. Then I put the 3 spoke on a spline out - what a T**T

The headlights are slowly gaining brackets, started with half a functional on o/s and 1 decent bracket on n/s. I've now got 3 on o/s (soldering iron job) and 2 on n/s (alu bar and pk screws). The plug on the N/S is missing the stupid plastic gizmo's that lock it in place. So unless vx sell them, I'll have to make replica's in metal to secure the plug on nicely.
On the o/s the locking gizmo cracked as I removed it! melted that back together.
No longer getting headlight errors on MID - so thats nice isn't it.

My front bumper was missing mounting brackets on the wing on both sides, thing was semi floating! Alu brackets made and pk screwed in - bumper now secure.

Sheared a locking wheel stud on the front n/s - thats still in the hub. Havn't had the courage to try the two rears yet (front o/s came out ok and has been scrapped)

Have got my HID's fitted into main beam, which again is nice.

Have sorted total closure by linking the two wires - again very nice, missed that.

Have installed a TC button so I can turn TC off now.
HOWEVER
while doing this I noticed a melted wire behind n/s kick panel. Its a blue wire coming from the upper half of the white connector block. Has really been warm, fortunatly the surrounding wires have still got good insulation on them, but the affected wire is basically bare. Don't spose anybody knows what this wire could be for? maybe a common thing?
I tried to wash the windscreen recently only to realise the system is frozen solid, (so now I'm waiting to see if the bottle has cracked) but I'd of thought a fuse would blow before a wire got that hot.

Have done my best to protect the screenwash bottle, syphoned out as much as possible (it was just water, cowboys) and added a kettle full of hot water and some screen wash.

Have got the omega wiper stalk fitted, which is nice.

And now tonight, after putting the radio back in and the surround back on, I find the illumination bulb for fan speed on the climate control unit has died. Have tried two replacements and neither works, and swapped the one from temperature selection and that DID work, assuming those bulbs are 5v as I'm fairly confident my two replacements are working bulbs.

and my oil cap leaks, as does the one from an x18xe which I've also tried.

Progress, its all back together again. Sorted my bulb problem - must've had a run of duff bulbs (probs dropped the bag at some point)

traffic master module removed, thats pretty much all of my little interior mods sorted now.

LOL, your having fun then!

Sounds like its coming along nicely though. I'm not sure what wire your mentioning is though, but definitely worth tracing and finding out for certain.
