To be honest if I was to do anything, I would re-wire the apaptor using 4 core screened cable from maplin rather than, just 4 lengths of standard wire. Clearly autoleads expected interferance, to go to the trouble of screening their patch lead in the first place.

I'm happy to live with it - though, the radio will have to come out again when I get a disc changer so could look into it then, if its bugging me.
Its quite common to see sparking on the commutator of a motor isn't it, so I'm not worried.
