limp mode and missfire can be caused by the Knocking sensors
there are 2 for each side of the engine
one in front and one in the back
they are located under the manifold

it didnt go into limp home it just ran like a bag of spanners it turnrd out that its last service before i bought it the garage never bothered to put the plugs in tight and one which caused the problem was only hal if that of the way in the head so burnt out the electrode
