Default aircon question

Hi again, I have just had my aircon tested in our 2.6 vectra B estate 2001 as it wasnt working when we purchased it and it appears that there is a split pipe down near the rad. Now if I go getting a spare pipe will I have to remove it from a 2.6 engine or will a 2.5 version suffice, is the aircon between the 2 identical?

thanks
jules

Its a good question; though I don't know the answer. I would need to know what pipe your refering to before I could check for you.

I would consider purchasing a new item though.

maybe worth taking it to local hydraulics firm who may be able to do a repair on your pipe.
I've got the same prob on one of mine. by the power steering pump

Did mine a while ago, you cant really see much without removing o/s headlight.

The one I fixed came from the top of the pump and into a branch which is bolted to the rad, common one to go as if not secured will rub against the chassis. The other pipe going to the condessor is clamped in three places.

As its empty this you can do yourself, save yourself a bucket load of money and then have it recharged £44 Kwik-fit. I was quoted £250+vat without parts or recharging.

Parts are expensive from Vaux and found the one I needed from vauxhallworldparts 2/3rds off

Hmm thats sounds like my fault, the pipe is not secured , if you move it you can heare the hissing of the leaking gas were we did a partial refil. How much was it then, i suppose you dont have the part number of the pie that you purchased?
