No, I'm still on the VX LED, what its got in there is a bulb and the LED, sharing a common ground. I was finding that by rejoining the Yellow/Grey wire (which provides +12v, for the backlight) both the LED and the bulb were on solid when the lights were on. Can only assume this is due to the common contact, I've not sat down with a pen and tried to think my way through the circuits in detail.
The plastic bulb carrier has contacts molded into it, so I cut into it with a hacksaw blade and severed the common contact. Got two wires soldered onto the back of the LED, and routed them internally within the switch to two of the four terminals.
The backlight I used the original connectors for but changed the wire order a bit. Had to pull the actual switch part apart to avoid that making a short if pressed, to the outsider though its perfectly functional. Changed the hazard light switch too since the bulb had blown, so I'm only missing an A/C backlight now haha
