Mechanical cruise control is for prefacelift, mechanical throttle cars, with the cable throttle. For this, you need the cruise control ECU (which is fitted on the lower passenger side suspension turret, and requires the completing throttle cable, plus the twin bracket which fits it to the throttle body. You also require a clutch switch, and on some models you need to fit the later type cruise enabled brake switch as well. This is on top of the cruise control indicator stalk. This conversion does not require tech 2.
Electronic cruise control is fitted to facelift models with electronic throttle control systems. e.g. they don't have a throttle cable, they use wires and a throttle sensor instead. On these models you only need the stalk, and the clutch switch - But on some engines they need to be enabled with tech2 first.
On both types, auto's obviously don't need clutch switches.

You need the actual Cruise control ECU complete with its throttle linkage (from a X25XE), plus the throttle bracket and fittings to enable both throttle cables to be fitted to the throttle body linkage. You also need the cruise control stalk from a cruise enabled Vectra B.
The plug for the cruise control is usually clipped to the brake pipe down the back of the suspension turret. If you look closely you'll see the two thread studs its fitted to. Have fun, its a really awkward place to fit it!

Okay, I have had a look, as I needed to check my indicator stalk.
It is not self canceling when turning left, but nothing i can fix, so I guess I have to replace...
I have an extra little 4 pin cable hanging about there...
As far as I know this is used to control the CC, but correct me if I am wrong...
So I guess I will get a CC stalk, and get the rest if needed..
The current stalk is not working anyway.. so needs repalcement.. I want everything to work on a car, can't stand it that something is not, or hardly working...
