Strange sounds n/s rear
This weekend I had 2 round trips Edinburgh.
The car did an amazing job... drove well over 800 miles.
It was fairly cheap on fuel (V6) and you just don't get tired in it...
But, after these miles, a strange sound ( 2 sounds ) developed in the back..
The first one was a low tone "bump" when driving slowly through potholes and such.. the second an annoying rattle...
The first is easily solved, a bush is at his end.. just replace that, problem solved.. ( will do that next weekend or so )
But the second is somewhat different...
I took the wheel off, took the brake apart, and cleaned the drum
There was some dirt in there, and I thought that caused the problem, so I've bolted everything back, and the sound is still there...
Took the wheel off again, and had a look..
Was feeling around the calliper, and I have discovered that the outer pad is loose... the same sound appears when you try to wiggle it...
My question.. how can I get that solved?
There is a clip on top to keep the pads in place, and 1 stays in there nicely, but the other one has a bit play..
Also discovered that there are new discs and pads in the back, so that can't be it...
