Great add, thanks.

I read about the Coolant sensor a while back (got some good info on that one, will post in a bit) and I've had one for over a year, never got round to fitting it. will post some info on that sensor now, as that one is important.

As I mentioned, I noticed a few droplets on the subframe when checking the exhaust flexi and it didnt click, didn't bother to check out where the fuel filter was either lol.

I think I will replace the coolant bridge seals Vaux part 12992647 at the same time (these are like gold down in S.Wales, I just discovered) as I will be draining the system - it would be an easy fix and as its another known problem.

It seems a wise move, Vec b's are now getting on in age and its one less thing to have to worry about in the future.

It shouldnt be too hard, but it depends on how much needs to be removed in order to fit the seals. To be honest, I've been up since 6am, and only just finished moving stuff about 20 mins ago and my brains so mushed I can't even think of how you go about doing it! LOL.

I've drunk like 10 ltrs of water today, 2ltrs of Pepsi, and its been scorching hot! I've a seriously fun day ahead tomorrow! Sorry I'm of no use, but please feel free to do a how-to guide and I'll happy publish one and credit you for it.

I know, been putting some sport seats in my son's Pug lol its been really close...hardly any breeze.
I cant fault the help you and other members of VVON have been, since I joined. The list you added yesterday really helped. So I hope you got everything you needed to do today, done.

I've had the top stripped down to the manifold recently + several times before lol and the coolant bridge seems straightforward enough, the three-point heater valve now that looks like fun

I'll take some pics whilst I'm doing the job and add the steps I took.

Dealers in my area now only keep stock of Veccy C's and they have minimum qrder qtys, so I get the majority of my parts from Vauxhallworldparts, as their prices are so cheap none of the silly Vauhall/GM/dealer markups and they now price match for me lol as I found a cheaper price on Ebay hahaha, plus they are also a useful source of info..... for the V6 Vectra lol they listen to me rambling on and understand hahaha.

The heater valve is now on hold till the bridge seals arrive to save me postage.

I think I will be also be chucking the old GM hose clips and using jubilee's, learnt a lesson there - took top hose off to drain system when I did the antifreeze recently and the hose had a leak as the clip lost its tension - sprayed coolant over the airfilter.

One thing I noticed this morning was the water temp seemed to rise quicker than normal - nothing extreme and I'm wondering is the thermostat stuck. So I will be changing that beastie at the same time - its been on there for 6-7 years.

I popped into my local garage and he had a look around, released the expansion tank cap and there's nothing abnormal, so for the moment I'm thinking leaks / blockage are causing the temp sensor to feed the ECU with duff info.

Having a change of mind now - so this is on-hold, as the strange noise I first reported has reappeared, then it goes if I push the engine and I'm wondering ...water-pump bearings. There is now a noticeable leak around the top hose.

The symptoms, meshing sound and sudden loss of power as if not firing on all 6, so am going to have a cam-belt / water-pump check done at the dealers, as its something I cannot do and its seriously driving me mad.

Right am back on course.

Will eventually be changing the coolant bridge seals - as there was a leak plus the coolant sensor, as this is an important sensor and I already have a new one

Thermostat is working as it should and the heater contol switch is also functioning, thats £42 saved lol
