Default intermittent o2 sensor and Engine temp

O2 Sensor.

Well did a 180m roundtrip and as usual as soon as I floored it - engine management light came on, no loss of power - I miss the induction kit, but I digress.

On return had the exhaust checked - on a ramp engine running...no air-leak, so tomorrow I will check the EGR pipe connection, recheck the EGR blank and Idler valve for any leak signs. Then next week have a Tech II

Not a lot more I can do on that front.

Engine Temp

Suspect this is normal

With Air-con on engine temp is a steady 84

With Air-con off engine temp is a steady 88-92

Notice the difference when driving slow with the Air-con on, have to change gears more frequently lol

The exhaust place I'd recommend as they are very honest, they spent nearly 2 hours checking the exhaust and didn't they charge me a penny.
Even offered to remove my tailpipes and polish them, so many would just try and sell you stuff....they won't.

Yeah I'm thinking it has to be something simple, I did remove the manifold last week to check the injectors, connections etc and I'm wondering did I use enough black sealing compound on the blanking plate - (that took me over an hour to make lol), Idler valve (gasket had broken) or is the EGR pipe and branch tight - but if its blanked would that cause it.

So a few things to recheck

Plus they are the original sensors the car itself has 94,000 on the clock - they say 70,000 life expectancy, one of them may be breaking down when hot.

I know the induction kit is going back on lol

Make sure you use genuine items if you replace them mate. Pattern ones can be a nightmare!

I'd say maybe its the EGR, or it could be the Secondary Air pump. Is it leaking at all?

Ment to say, the air-leak tripping the O2 sensors was either the idler valve, or the EGR blank as I reseated everything and left the blank off, the O2 sensors were ok.

However that meshing noise (I mentioned in my very first post in the forum) came back, so that was down to the EGR valve and I made a brand new blank, and that has also stopped...well pleased I actually found out the cause.
