I totally agree, and there's a large majority of V6 owners who also agree, besides with a twin cat-back exhaust it has a nice grunt, so I loose the induction whistle lol.
I had a alluminium heat sink made that screws to the chassis plus the filter shield, yeah it sounds good lol The garage owner where I take the car said the bhp gain is minus figures this weather and he also said when the engine is at norm temp, so I usually switch to sealed in the summer. This morning both shields were untouchable....hot!!! So unless I am moving at a reasonable speed any air drawn in will be hot.
The courtenay box (I picked up from a written-off Vec for £5) has a larger inlet than std - same external size and the old owner had a reducer pipe fitted fed from the three pipe.
I also have the K&N panel not the foam filter, so I can always add the cold feed pipe from either behind the Opel badge (OPC grill) or n/s/f of lower bumper.
Thinking about the add-on's since the last time I used a sealed box as we had a mild summer last year..., 3.8bar FPR and the EGR wasn't blanked, so I should see an improvement plus what I did Saturday

with the airleaks and connections.
