Default f23 or f25 box

what box is better i took a f25 box out my track car bt the drivers side driveshaft wont come out the box so i gave up trying but iv got a f23 box in my shed witch im gunner fit instead so would like to know if one is better than the other

cheers matey i know the f23 is made by getrag so should be a strong box to now all i need is all the linkage and gearstik £45 from my local scrappy witch i thought wernt bad

Only ever experienced the F23 after having owned 2x 2.6's, but very pleased with it. 3rd gear is rather long, but I quite like that.

I prefer the F25 when coupled with a V6. A close ratio F23 would be better for acceleration though.

iv got an f25 in my every day vectra and cant really fault it bt as i said the f25 in my other car the drive shaft wont come out the box and iv hit pulled it and broke the bearing on it so i gave up trying

The nearside driveshaft needs drifting off most of the time. GM use a special tool, that fits between the diff casing, and the CV casing to lever it off.

Trying to pull, or hit it off doesn't work, which is why I always recommend people replace the outer CV joint in situ, when they're replacing it.

It will come off if your patient. Sometimes they seem to drop off with some persuation with a drift and hammer. Sometimes they seem moulded together and just won't budge. lol.

the driveshaft in my every day vectra just pulls out with no probs iv had the engine ot ov it twice and both times came out with just a tug lol but any way i gave up
