Default Electric Mirrors Conversion

Hi all its me again. I dont know if this has been covered in a how 2. But im contemplating changing my manual door mirrors to electric. Is this an easy conversion ie wiring plus contectors in doors or is it alot more complex.

Im hoping that its an easy conversion as in just purchase electric mirrors and the switch, but knowing my luck it will not be.

The best thing to do is remove the door card and check if the multi-plug is sit behind it mate. If there is a big multiplug sat unconnected behind the door card then you have pre-wiring in place already and its just a case of connecting the plugs from the mirrors controller to it.

There will also be another spare connector the mirror plugs into, either behind the door card, or taped up inside the door if it has the controller connector already fitted. If it isnt fitted, your likely going to need the door loom from a car that does have it already.

The door cards are easy to remove!

Pull the A pillar trim off (it covers the screws on the inside of where the mirror is fitted too) if you have wiring in place you'll see the connector for the mirror behind it. Remove that screw int he top corner of the door card that becomes visable once its removed.

Carefully prize out the tweeter grille (screw behind it), remove the door handle insert, and inside there you have another screw. Then prize off the mirror controller blank, and remove the screen behind that. The door handle will then completely off of the door card. Remove it, and place it out of the way.

Then remove 3-4 screws from the bottom of the door car, running along the bottom of the door card.

Then it just prizes off. It has plastic pop fittings running down each side of the door card, top to bottom. Once it will lift away from the bottom of the door, tap it upwards and it will come off the window seal and free from the door completely.

Once you've done one its a 2 min job the next time.
