Might sound a silly question- But is it only like that when stationary?

With no power-steering, my Vec was almost impossible to drive, even a few yards. I found this out after it cut out on me a few months ago whilst half way round a roundabout.

Have you tried bleeding the system?

Does the PAS free up with more revs? e.g. if you fast idle the car when stationary at say 1500rpm, does it free up completely?

I didnt think the 2.2s had electric power steering, I thought they were driven off of the belt just like any other Vec B setup... I'll have a read up, and see if any common faults are associated with it for you. I dont remember my old 2.2 having electic PAS though.

Steering's not meant to be turned when stationary, so it will feel heavy.

With my super grippy 225 Eagle F1's, I feel my muscles get bigger each time I try turning the wheel when stationary
