Default How-to requests

Hello all, I'm getting there on sorting the how-to section now, but now looking into adding some more how-to guides.

In the coming days/weeks I'm going to be doing how-to's for the following:

  1. Fitting cruise control on 2.2 (Z22SE)
  2. Electric rear windows conversion
  3. Total closure mod
  4. rear discs and pads replacement
  5. Correctly adjust the handbrake (all models)
  6. Possibly cambelt and water pump replacement (2.5)
  7. Possibly camshaft replacement
  8. prefacelift to facelift headlamp conversion (I'm going back to prefacelift ones)
  9. various interior trim removal and replacement guides

Can anyone else think of any how-to guides they'd like to see added to our how-to section? I'll see if I can add them to my list, or others could even do them as they do things to there own vecs.

If people are happy to take pics, but cant be arsed with writting it up, I can do that for you as well.

Just add to the list, and so I can keep up with it all, if anyone needs anything doing?

Vectra C owners, we dont have much yet, so these would be welcomed. If I had a C I'd be getting some done.. I'll see if I can borrow one to do some guides.

**If Tom is ok with it, I'll keep this running in main chat for a few days, then move it over to the how-to area**

Mmm, maybe one day! I think Donna would kill me right now if I went and started stripping the engine down to replace it!

Its essentially the same as doing the A cams replacement. Except with the Y26SE you have a lot more to remove. If I could I would dude, but we're getting a friend too, so its dependant on whether he'll let me take pics and use his work, hence the possibly... I'm in no fit state to be bending in an engine bay... And Donna doesnt have the confidence to do it, which is far enough really. lol

Is there a how-to for the A cam fitting then Lee?

Not seen that one.

BTW- I've got all that's needed for the Total Closure mod- Just not had time to PDF it as yet.

Will get this done over the weekend, but if I forget please bump this.. my memory is like it's non-existent

Just mail it over to me if you like Tom, I'll get it written up and then PDF'd today if you like.

I dont know of a PDF in existance for J cams, but if i did one for A cams, it would pretty much be the same bar removing certain parts like dispaks which are different for example.

No worries Neil. I'll give you the heads up when the time comes. I've all but decided I'll probably do this now, just need to convince Donna of it!

OK Wicked.

I'll mail you the pics shortly mate.

As for the cams- yeh I know what you're saying, but the dis packs look fairly straight forward to remove, and that's coming from me

Another thought- I'm sure I have loads of pics from when I removed my plenums.. that too was a bit different from doing the 2.5 plenums.

Maybe I'd have enough pics to create a how-to for the 2.6 plenum removal
