do people on here just blurt out random figures or something?
Never heard so much drivel in my todd!
Facts fellas......
2.5 gsi 192bhp 178lbft
2.6 gsi 178bhp 202lbft
2.6 gsi is just as tunable as the 2.5 infact more so tbh.....
Misconception here is that you can't do as much to the 2.6 but because the 2.6 already has the enlarged throttle body and larger Fpr already fitted they don't need doing.
Change the cams to 4x G's on a 2.5 and 4xG's on a 2.6 you'll have 198bhp and 195lbft on the 2.5 and 194bhp and 209lbft on the 2.6.
derestrict the 2.6 (remove the precats) and that'll push you another 10-15bhp which you cannot do to the 2.5.
The ECU on the 2.6 is according to Danstek, superchips and Star performance better for mapping and gives more gains. Hence why a 2.6 Gsi saw 21bhp over standard power with only a back box, filter and remap.
Next point lol
ST3000 was not official production car so doesn't count (prototypes to unfinished project)
ST200 38 built
STV6 and ST2.0 500 total (all saloons)
2.5 Gsi 3800+
2.6 Gsi 500 of which 39 were actually estates......
However rarest of all is the single blue estate ST200
