Default Is it worth re-mapping 05 vectra cdti 150 bhp

Hi,

I'm soon to purchase a 05 Vectra 1.9 cdti 150bhp. I'm thinking about re-mapping but is it really worth it? Anyone on here had the same done already? I've been told it does improve fuel consumption?

Gaz

Default Re: Is it worth re-mapping 05 vectra cdti 150 bhp

I had a Saab 9-3 Sports saloon with the same Z19DTH engine, and it was worthwhile remapping it.

From memory it had 182bhp, and torque was up around 40Nm, it made a big difference to the engine. I saw an increase in fuel consumption on long journeys, as at the time I was doing around 450 miles a week. I regularly got 580+ miles to a tank even with heavy driving. Obviously, if you drive with a heavy foot all the time fuel consumption will lower, but if you are conservative you'll get a few more miles to the tank.
