Thats absolutely awesome mate!

Do I sense a very long how-to guide coming? I should be getting your omega window conversion how-to done today as well. Sorry on the delay in regards to publshing it for you.

I bet the AC man was well shocked when you said you'd converted it yourself! haha.

worked out quite funny really. I mentioned in my first post in the new members section, that one of the previous owners did alot of work to the car in terms of adding facelift parts. I happened to meet him months ago playing football, although I'd heard about him alot, prior to that I'd never met him.

Went to a garage which does aircon yesterday, and I wasn't sure it if was him working there, I had a feeling it was, but didn't say anything and he didn't make any comment on knowing me, they couldn't do it yesterday anyway. so took it back today, and said to him about knowing his face and he confirmed he was the guy who did loads to it. He said £20 cash OK?

Obviously that was fine.

He appreciated the amout of work involved yes haha, but hes done plenty on the car himself, was good to talk to him about it.

RE: How to, is it worth it? Surely nobody else is stupid enough to take this on. And if they are still following upto the wiring part, they're probably well capable of following their nose with it, as I did.

Here is a parts list (should put most off)

From an AC equipped car:

Radiator + fan
Condensor + fan
Refridgerant pipe work
Refridgerant compressor
intact wiring loom for the above
Battery tray bracket for the relay box

Intact front main loom inc. fusebox and relays
Heater control switches
Matrix bypass valve
Matrix bypass valve contol unit and wires
Compete heater housing inc. matrix and evaporator
Dash AC switch
N/S footwell inner footwell trims
Longer auxillary belt
O/S engine mounting bracket

It would be different; But I think it would come in handy from other perspectives, like for example wiring help and diagnosting AC problems for other members.

It depends how you feel about it really. I'm sure your not the first to consider AC, but most would be put off, a how-to guide would come in handy.

Its your shout, but I think it would be worth it.

Yeah, I reckon we could make it work. I've plenty of Vectra pics should you need a certain one.
