I went out in the snow earlier and got a couple of things done.

I changed the plenum hoses and fitted brand new shiny clips to finish them off. Then I just had a good look around the engine bay and at a few hoses, ready for removing from the heater matrix and coolant bridge and replacing.

A few pics of the shiny new hoses... And ignore my dusty engine bay... It needs a serious clean and polish. lol.

Those plenums really dont look very good without the yellow rocker covers I have.

And this is why my heater matrix hoses need replacing:

I still need to order some up, but I might get some silicone ones made up if they arent available yet.

I've still got loads to do, and a huge parts list to order up from Vauxhall to finish the engine bay. Dependant on weather tomorrow I might head out and finally fit my LEDs to the heater unit, and re-fit a couple of trims then the inside is pretty much done.

So I went out and got some more done today.

I finally test fitted the LEDs, then removed the heater unit and glued the strips in place. Then it was back on with all of the trims and back to one piece again. The LEDs look fantastic, but arent lighting the right dials right face very well so I feel they'll be coming out for more of a play around shortly.

I also finally traced and then removed the wiring for the illuminated door sills that are no longer fitted, and replaced the drivers kickwell with a new one as the old one had a cigar lighter moulded into it!

I also replaced the inner heat kick surround on the drivers side as the locating fitting on the front of it was snapped off.

So besides having to mess with the LEDs to get the best possible light, the interior is now almost completely done.

Which brings me to the confusing point: After fitting the drivers kick surround against the door, I tried to lock the car only to find the central locking was no longer working. So I checked the fuses, all OK, and in a confused state of mind as to what was happening I decided to remove the kick surround again, only for the central locking to then work! If I fit it, it doesnt work, if its off it does work!! WTF!!!

So I now have that to work out, as well as remove the wiring that seems to be running through the door shut and into each of the front doors, seperate from the main loom. Hmm... I dunno why someone would drill into the doors and door frame but there we go!!

So once those two things are done so is the interior.

Pics will follow shortly, I didnt take any today as wanted to get on with it (read as totally forgot too!)... I'll take some soon though.

that sounds a right pain in the rear could it be a trapped wire that causes it too not work?

Now wheres than ban button Tom........

Its possibly a trapped wire Matt. The loom has been seriously messed around with in that area, so I might end up having to remove the whole interior and replace the wiring thats damaged. I dont like bodging things, I'd rather replace any wires from its start to finish than cut out and splice it.

If it turns out to be electrical gremlins I'm just going to replace the entire loom for a V6 CDX one and fit climate control at the same time. Its a shed load more work, but I'm not going to spend the next few years tracing faulty wiring and repairing it when the whole lot can be changed.

That said it is a odd one really. I've not had that kick panel on since I started rebuilding the car, and the locking has always worked... Since the wiring has been so badly disturbed in that area I wanted to tidy it before putting the panel back.

I suppose I'll be out with the wiring diagrams and on with the checking of the central locking circuits in the next few days. I'll take some pics in a bit, as got to head out soon to drop my car off at Saab.
