Default My Vectra Project Diary

Got a few bits around the site but thought i may as well start a project diary, then i can just update this lol.

ANYWAY lol

This was the shots that made me decide to drive to cardiff at 8pm to do a deal with my BMW 318 (love the vec but still miss the beamer)

First things first, as it looked as though the guy hadnt looked after it that will Mechanically thought *** it, Gave it a full Service using genuine VX parts (unusual as the only car that normally gets that treatment is the freelander lol), this included,

Full oil Change x2
New Filter
New Cam cover gasket
New air filter
New fuel filter
New brakes on front (now need to do the rears)
thought while i was being generous i would do the Thermostat as well.
New Bosch super 4 Plugs - Made quite a difference which surprised me
New Spark plug leads.

Gave it a through clean,

Next i done THIS -

Not to everyones taste BUT think they sort of suit the car - HOWEVER looking into other options at the minute.

NEXT came some interior colour coding - Will put some better pics up tomorrow

Changed from the standard gearknob to this -

Then added the all important -

Todays Work (10/05/09)

Well as i said when i brought it the guy had paid any attendtion to the body work, the original plan was to leave it until it went in for a respray as i had no intention of going to PVS due to me flying to the states on the 7th June, After a conversation with the Mrs she said we could go (yippppeeeeee), so thought i would do a few bits that were bugging me so first things first

FRONT BUMPER -

Reasons for the REMOVAL (lol)

During removal

(for some reason reminds me of a scene in Herbie Reloaded, PMSL)

DURING REPAIR

FINISHED AND REPLACED

Some random pics whilst on my way to Halfords before Starting the bumper repair.

Anyway comments welcome.

tbh mate as much as I'm not into chavvy styling- Those lights don't actually look 'too bad' on a silver Vec.

Thanks Tom. yeah i think they look OK on the car and think it pulls em off, but when the respray happens then they gotta go as they wont blend in.
