 project slag has begun
sorry no pics till tommoz but any1 who has them feel free to post them with any captions, pmsl ok ladys and gentlemen.......... my new project has begun after alot of searching, umming and rring, and a little msn conversation with benster, i decided to go and have a look at the saloon he was selling due to a change of mind again lol....  went to have a look made him an offer and the deal was done......  the next plan was to get the car to bens house before work could start. after a little perswation ben had organised a fellow vec owner with a towing dolly, to drag the slag to bens........  now lets get a gearbox, oh and some downpipes. so off to ebay we go, i find a fella with a 2.0l sri on a v plate breaking down in denby, a few texts later gearbox and pipe sorted, texts ben to lt him no and his reply "nice one"......  time for a fix it day. which occured on the 25/04/09 at the daft time of 7.30am i set off to denby for the requird parts, arrive and pay. foot down hard to get bens fast, realy cant wait to get started.... stop off at chester services for a leak and a bacon butty, i recive a phone call from ben,"where are you, you lazy fooker, the car is up on jacks, wheels off, boot lid open, and phil-h workin his magic on the interior THANKS MATEY TOP JOB........ finally arrive at bens with a mcd's for the grafters, quick break and back to it. so phil 007 what do you want me to do, do you need any help, "yes stay out of the way an let me and keith get on with it" THANKS GUYS ON A JOB WELL DONE.... a couple of trips to halfrauds for a ball joint splitter that broke on th first whack................... need i say anymore then we have a lockyicm coughin up blood after lying don on a screw...lol anyway whilst the boys are sweating over the motor myself and ben set to wrk on dave's spot light.........it works so we got summut right....  a good few hours later and good old yank from the jolly ginger giant and the box was on the floor, yeehaw!!!!! after a little vasaline and and a good push the box was back in close to where it should of been, with a huge THANKS to mooney and his legs lol..... we are struggling, caint seem to get the bitch in, arrrrghhhh.... getting frustrating but we perservere,  then at daft o'clock in the evening who arrives? well it's pumagirl and stiggy..... after a little name calling and greetings, stiggy put his 10p worth in and 5mins latr the box is home and a bolt is in place.......... where the fook have you been allday lol...................... so a happy me and an evan more happy phil007 the bath is getting close for him, we set to work on rebulding the engine bay, subframe and passenger wheel hubs.......... also thanks to ben and anji for allowing this maddness to happen on thier drive 22.45 the car is pushed back to where she sleeps till next saturday whn work will resume................ by a computer engineer and a digger driver.............   whats left to do? replace battery tray connect gear linkages bleed the box trackrod end manifoild and down pipes log book mot........... service swap suspension swap seats swap clocks exhausts headlights switches pul the dinge at the back drivers door and rear bumper tax and insure i will add more as they happen.......hopefully she will be spot on for pvs fingers crossed

was a good day, had a good laugh, well till the box wouldnt go in and i had to do a bit, i was quite happy supervising with my brew in the everton mug (cheers anji  )

it was a pleasure looking after u guys.. even though i was really hungover.. thanks for the giggles... i had to wrestle ma kid for the everton mug for mooney lol.. i won haha oh and mooney next time .. dont wear a white t-shirt lol.... always a cuppa @ our house.. dont matter if ur workin on the driveway all day or just passin... our house is a vectra stop off... and the best quote of the day was...(my landlord came for his mail).. and says.. ""FECKIN ELL ANJI u havin a vectra convention.. lol.. i said yes i am.. how did u guess..7 vectra's parked outside lmao...

i was coughin up blood because i have 2 broken ribs, i whacked myself in them with the jack handle, should never have been doing any of the work but when a fellow member and friend needs help i will always do my best, even though i was unable to assist any further lol

really enjoyed this weekend been a good laugh friday with keith n phil at ours and the kebabs of death lol ...... satuday everyone pitched in to help with VERY limited TOOLS, everyone did a fantastic job ....even you mooney lol ..... aparently NIDGEBOY turned up ??? i didnt see him but he was there lol ..... phil007 ...... top job on the mechanics Keith ... top job helping phil Phil-H ... the inside of that car looks BRAND NEW i have before and after pics that i will put us asap. jase ..... top job on screaming like a girl in my car lol moony ... great help with drinking cups of tea lol nidge........ HI.... lol stiggy... that little bit of knowledge went a hell of along way.... ROLL on next saturday when the fun starts again RAIN or Sun !!!! |

have we got a project section? If we haven't tom get your finger out, lol! Top day all in all, glad you're happy with the interior m8. Like I said, you'll have to regad it as a "first fix", plenty more ****e to remove to get it how I want it, but it's a good start, nontheless Phil 007: Kudos to this guy, don't think he stopped all day! |

then took it out again because i forgot to connect up the wiring, then put it in again lol nearly got away with it but phil-h spotted me lol
