Wahoooo!!

I've been and got about 6 quotes in the last week, and they ranged from £450, through to £3,500 to have the work done that I needed (Most of which you can see in the pics above).

For £450, I was going to get the following done:
  1. Front bumper painted
  2. Drivers side front wing painted
  3. Both doors painted
  4. Rear quarter repaired & painted
  5. Rear bumper painted
...And I was going to source another bonnet and front wing |(In the same colour as my car) from a donor car.

But... I've just took my car to another guy (Who has a good rep).... is doing it for £550. Plus.. he's doing this lot too:
  1. Bonnet painted
  2. Grill painted
  3. Light brows fitted and painted
  4. BOTH Front wings painted so the paintwork all blends in
  5. Both doors painted
  6. Rear quarter repaired & painted
  7. Rear bumper painted
  8. BOOT repaired & painted (As it's had a smallish dent in it since I bought the car)
  9. His dent man is going to try fix a small dent in my roof (No painting needed).
So I don't need to source another bonnet/ wing in the same colour, AND I'm getting all my other little imperfections sorted at the same time!!

I know they say you get what you pay for with bodyshops.. but the guy who took me to this bloke owns 2 car garages (Selling higher-end cars) and he uses this guy all the time.. and with the fact that they repair Ferarri's, and Mercs etc- I'm pretty damn sure my car will be well looked after.

And when it's all done... the guy's going to MOT it for me too, for £25

Still can't believe how much

Can't wait to get the car back already.. all going well I should have it back in 5-7 days

Now all I've got left to do is find and fit a short-shifter from an astra 2.2 (With F23), and possibly do the boot install, and PVS... here I come!!

well.. last weekend included a road trip to Derby for a mini meet with the lads (Thanks for making the effort ). Main reason for my visit was to go get some Eagle F1's from James C, who kindly got his mate to come and fit them for me too.. thanks mate .

From the weekend until now I've had a ****ty few days, and today just when I thought things couldn't get any worse.........

...... They never. Was shopping and got a phone call- Car's ready. WAHOOOOO!!

So after finally managing to drag the Mrs out of Boots by the ear, I picked her up, all shiny and fresh paint

Sadly- Just as I arrived there to collect her- It started to rain, but I've grabbed a few photo's of the drivers side and front end which is now looking fab!!

Wasn't cheap, but I need to say a HUUUUUGE thank you to Darren at 355 in Bretton, Peterborough. I would recommend him to anyone needing paintwork/ body repairs doing. So thank you Darren

Grabbed some photo's, but you can't appreciate the paint in all it's glory until the weekend when I give her a good wash (She is filthy, and wet from the rain):

Next things on the 'TO-DO' list-

Insurance runs out at midnight, so will do that online later- Got a good price from a new site sponsor that will be announced by the end of the month

MOT runs out Tuesday or Wednesday, so I'll take her down there Monday and get that done. Thanks to a friend- It's only costing £25 .. Fingers crossed she will pass first time. If not- should only be on the tie rod ends as there's a slight bit of play in the rack (Nothing major).

And I've sourced a short shift from the Astra 2.2, so need to get payment sent for that and patiently await delivery. All for the bargain price of £22 which includes the gear knob!
