Thanks for clarifying that m8.

And yeh.. I will.. just not got around to doing it yet lol. Will get it done in the coming day or 2

Right.. update time...

I'm now considering getting rid of the car (Although it's going to break my heart, and I'll probably regret it!). I just don't have any money to spare at the moment, and this seems like the right thing for me to do.

So- testing the water, I've listed it on Swapz and Pistonheads to see what comes up.

You lot know how fussy I am by now- surely, which is why I'm trying to point out every little bad bit about the car.... To be honest none are NEEDED.. but they should be done to maintain the cars perfection (Something I can't afford to do!).

  • 2 Uprated shocks for the front- The front of the car is like a boat (Here's why). From what I can remember you can buy Bilstein shocks for £40 a piece. Not a MUST, but it's currently running standard GSI shocks on the front, with lowered springs and is causing some noise, as if something's loose (Because the dampers are too big for the springs!). Car handled like a dream with the old uprated shocks on.. it was impossible to lose it in the wet or dry, and it was still a VERY comfortable ride with no knocks or bangs.
  • Air con doesn't work as there's a small leak in a pipe (I have the part, but not had time to fit it). Air con will then need re-gassing.
  • New gear knob/ shaft (Complete unit.. was quoted about £20- £25 from the breakers). I had a new knob to fit, but the standard ones on this model don't come off and it was only after I hack-sawed it to pieces did I realise this. I've bogged one on there, and it's a bit of an eye-sore, but does the job and has done for about 6 months
  • Headlight leveler for drivers side headlamp.. Works fine, but needs replacing as it's causing the battery to drain. Couple of quid from the breakers. Currently I have the leveler set to position 3 and the battery is not draining- It hasn't for well over a week now.
  • Front bumper could do with being resprayed. It was badly prepped when it got it's fresh lick of paint, so not perfect- But still looks fine! If you read here, you'll see the bodywork that I recently had done, and the fresh paint can be seen here. The rest of the car's paintwork is spot on, with the exception of this small dent (being fussy!!) in the bonnet which happened after a few weeks of being painted !.. and the odd minor chip/ blemish but very minimal!). Looking at the paint/ bodywork- You would never believe it's covered 140k miles! Most of you will know how much of a cleaning addict I am. Example!
  • EML light has just came on.. Not sure what the problem is yet, But I'll fix it before the car goes. Probably just the ECU being over-sensitive to the forced induction kit- AGAIN!
  • Wheels have a few paint chips.. no dents though, and they clean up very nice indeed! Still plenty miles left on the tyres, which are awesome, might I add.
  • Tiny chip in passenger side of the front screen.. been there since I've owned the car and not got any bigger; also passed 2 MOT's like it.
  • Bit of wear on drivers bolster (As with any Vectra half leather interior I've ever saw)- Cheap repair.
  • Drivers door could do with a new check strap (£15 from Vauxhall). Not causing any problems.. just the odd annoying creek when opening the door. 15 minute job to replace... even for me!
  • Needs a new window winder handle for the rear door (Been meaning to get one since I bought the car as it were missing!)

So.. all minor things, and most are just me being picky! They wouldn't cost a lot to get them all done, and anyone who comes to see my car will see that it deserves a good, loving home.

I will wait & see what offers I get, then weigh up the options. At the moment I'm rather interested in MK4 Golf GTi's

I know mate it's making me sick at the thought of her going, but needs must. Just added that last post as I've linked to this thread from the Swapz advert, so people can see what's needed and why I need to let go.

However nothing's final yet.. all depends what I'm offered. As for the wheels- I'd love you to have my wheels mate I really would but I don't want to pull the car apart unless I really need to. IF I end up breaking the car for parts, and I'm a long way off that at the moment- I'll be sure to give you first dibs on them.

Well as much as I'd like ya wheels to be honest I dont want it to come to that. Besides unless you'd take installments for the wheels I doubt right now I could justify the expense!! LOL

Well... never thought I'd see the day I had to say this but- The Vectra is now a thing of the past.

No I've not crashed it- It's gone to a new caring owner who seems pretty chuffed with it. He said he'll register on here and keep in touch, so that's good to know

Just want to say a big thanks to anyone who helped me along the way of building the car to what it became. Not just people who helps physically, but also to those of you on the forum who offer a lot of helpful advice and technical knowledge. Give yourselves a pat on the back from me

Yesterday was the last day of modding the car... where I fitted a new stabilizer link bar, and Leeky kindly reset the EML light which flagged up again.. thanks to the 2.6's paranoid system!

I also noticed a tiny bit of wobble/ noise i the drivers side wheel which only appeared after fitting the standard GSI shocks with uprated springs (Due to the old one giving up!). Unsure what it was I had yet another trip over to Leeky's for a 2nd opinion, and in the end we decided it was the top nut that needs tightening on the shock.. or possibly a track rod end.

Nothing I was able to do in such short time, and with funds being low, so left it at that and let the new owner know- He was just glad I were so honest about any niggles the car had when giving it to him.

I won't be at all surprised to see the Vectra back to it's former perfect glory sometime soon, and I look forward to hearing news of it around the community.

Good luck to the new owner, and again- Thanks everyone for your help. It's very much appreciated
