I think atm with little activity we should get rid of the regional groups and have forum just for regional issues.

Then when member activity in the regions increase they can be created to match the user community

Think getting rid of the regional forums is more work than its worth, as once it picks up again then it will have to be added all over again etc.

as for the NATIONAL Rep Tom suggested think thats a good idea BUT wouldnt it be beneficial having the EVENTS CO ORDINATOR as the National Rep? as it essentially the same job anyway.
Obviously Leeky would have bit more work but i am sure he is capable, then maybe give him FULL mod powers over that side of the site.

I do agree that it would be more work, and then create even more to re-instate later on.

I am happy with that suggestion, as long as existing Area Co-Ordinators are happy with that also, as I dont want to seem like I am interfering with people already in position.

Yes exactly- already discussed

Point taken on-board, but personally I think taking these regional sections away could do more damage than good.

They should be bringing together, and allowing them promote VVON to the Vectra owners within their local area.

There's also the fact that- giving certain members the position of 'Area rep', should give them a bit more 'drive', and willingness to gather a bigger crowd within their regions.

Take these away, and what are we left with? -Having to rely solely on internet users to establish the site.

I'd rather leave the doors open to both internet, AND non-internet users. (By 'non-internet users', I mean people who may own a Vectra, but never think to look for a related website like ours).

I also thought about this Will.. and whilst I think this would be ideal out of show season- When the show season comes back, and Lee is busy organizing shows, I very much doubt he'd have time to keep on top of the regional areas too.
Lets not forget- Events co-ordinator (Or Events manager as it will now be named), can be a very demanding job.

We can get a poll up about this in the next few days; After I have informed area reps who's staying and who's going.

Keep the suggestions coming folks. This is exactly the kind of input I am looking for.

Thank you all

I think it should be ok. Granted show season I will be busy, but I think I should be able to spend enough time in the additional role if agreed it as good idea. I dont think keeping on top of each will be too hard, as long as I plan in advance - Which I would do otherwise I'd be over-run anyway.

If existing area co-ordinators are happy, then I am with it all.

obviously at the moment i aint around as much as i normally am, but check the logs and you'll find i ALWAYS pop on everyday sometimes few times a day, given up the area rep was literally as i didnt have much time to be flyering, etc etc. Mod side of things i do keep an eye on topics etc but have to say the members on here at the moment seem to moderate themselves, website wise i am able to offer time so could help leeky out as/when/if he needed it with the moderating of the area's.
