Default Need some testers

Will only take a minute of your time..

Basically since changing ISP, to BT (Boo!), I've noticed connection problems with VVON. It's not just VVON- But all sites that share the same data center as us ('The Planet'). Being one of the biggest data centers there is- there's millions of websites on their servers.

After doing a check; I've realised it's a problem with BT routing the connections across the pond (To the USA)... they use 'above.net' to route it over.

So what I need to see is if everyone's BT connection, or any other ISP's are giving off the same problem- To do this I need your help.

Windows XP users; here's what I need you to do for me:

  • Click 'start'
  • 'Run'
  • Type 'CMD' then hit enter
  • A command prompt box will appear.. now type 'tracert VVON.co.uk' and hit enter
  • Now wait a minute or 2 until it stops, then right click on the black area and choose 'select all'
  • Now press CTRL and C
  • Paste here the results using CTRL and V

Here's an example:

That's it.

Sorry- I'm not familiar with Vista, but if you know how to do a trace route, please feel free to post your results.

The more help I get from you, the more chance I have of getting the ISP(s) to look into resolving the problem.

Thank you

Is shows the route that your PC goes through to connect it to the website, which is stored on a server at 'ThePlanet' data center.

It's going a long way about it, and that's not good- Most won't really notice it, but it's something that needs resolving and I'm pretty sure others will have reported it by now too.
