Due to some problems in my personal life, which have been ongoing for quite some time now, and after much hard thought and consideration; I've finally decided it's time I gave up a few projects which are holding me back, and sadly; VVON is one of them.

Not only does the site require a lot of time dedicated to it, but there's also running costs, and since the site started, it's never managed to pay for itself for even a month. This can be overcome, but things need to change in order to do so, and I'm just not able to put this time & effort into the site to do this. Yes VVON has been very quiet lately, and according to a few forum admins I've been chatting with- They are all suffering one way or another. Maybe the credit crunch is stopping people pressing buttons on their keyboards incase they break?- I really don't know

Anyway- I would like to thank you ALL (Past AND present members & staff) for the hard work you have put into the site, because without you, VVON wouldn't exist as it does today. I'd also like to thank you all for the support you've offered me throughout the last year. I'll admit- VVON's had some up's & downs since launching, but we've got through them all and I can't thank you all enough for that.

So... after careful thought of where I go from here- I found myself with 2 options-

1. Give members 1 years notice that the site is closing down, and not allow any further paid subscriptions in that time. The forum would be left 'self-running' (As I don't have any time to commit to it). At the end of the year- I would take the site offline for good, and VVON would be no more.
2. Find someone who I trust to keep the site going, and give it the time & effort it needs. Not only to pick things back up to how they were, but to progress VVON to what it really should and can be.

Luckily, I was quite quickly offered a way out, and after careful consideration and discussion about it- I decided to go with option 2.

I am therefore, happy to announce the new owner & admin of VVON- Leeky.

If there's anyone I feel is able to do right by VVON and it's members, it's Lee. With a great knowledge of computers, fast ability to learn just about anything, and not to mention the unbelievable knowledge & understanding he has for Vauxhall's- I hope you will all join me in congratulating him on becoming the new site owner.

On another note- In the takeover process; I'm also proud to announce the decision that the Vauxhall Vectra Owners Network, will now become the Various Vauxhall Owners Network, thus catering for ALL Vauxhalls, not just Vectra's! So- expect to see quite a few changes around the forum over the coming weeks/ months as Lee sorts this out and expands the coverage of further Vauxhall models.

The site can only go in one direction from here on- UPWARDS, and I really hope you can all take me leaving as a true blessing- Since you're now gaining someone with time to dedicate to the site.

I am currently still wearing the 'Admin' title, and have a pink name at the moment, but this is only for a short time while I sort a few issues out and get Lee on his feet. So please- anything forum related from now on- Please contact relevant mods, or your new Admin- Leeky.

I will stick around the forums for many years to come- I'm sure. To be quite honest- I'm certain that by the end of the year I'll be back in a Vectra (For those of you that don't know- I now own a Golf GTI).

I love the banter that goes on here, and have met some fantastic people through the site, and I don't wish to leave this all behind totally. I'm simply doing what's right for me at the moment, and leaving behind the responsibility of running the site.

Anyway- Once again... Thank you all for your support over the last year, and congratulations to Lee- Your new site owner/ admin.

Wow, I dunno what to say to your comments Tom, that was a very nice introduction.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Tom and the VVON team for all of there hard work since the launch of the forum. As I've said many times it will be hard to see you step down, but I'm very grateful you've given me the opportunity to continue your hard work.

As I've said to you already, the door is already open for your return - Should you ever wish too. Never say never on this occasion Tom.

Its my hope with shed loads of hardwork we can carry on from your outstanding work on the forum, and help it evolve into an even better forum than it already is.

I feel very ready for the challenge, and have many ideas on how to move forward in a positive way.

Thank you Tom for this massive opportunity and I'm sorry it had to be under these circumstances. I am however very happy to know my actions are going to keep this forum alive.

Thanks Tom, and thank you to every single member that makes VVON the lovely place it is. Without you all we'd have nothing to continue from.
