Default Standing down as area rep

the time has come for me to stand down as area rep for the south west region. couple of things have made me decide to let it go.

1. time, i get the whole weekend off, but by the time i have sorted everything out here it leaves me very little time to myself.
2. area size. this region is MASSIVE, from bristol to lands end, realisticly to expect someone to come to any meet is a long shot. if you hold a meet in exeter thats just about central, so people on the boundaries are talking a major drive, hold a meet in taunton that restricts the cornwall members, and the same in plymouth, you then knock out dorset members.

i have tried everything down here, ringing people, little flyers on windscreens, even an ad in the local free papers, all to no avail.

a lot of other sites i belong to have this area divided into smaller bits, it then makes it a hell of a lot easier for people to attend their LOCAL meet

thanks to everyone on the site, admin and members.
goodluck to the next area rep for the south west

tbh its a pity you have not raised this points before as we could have followed them through and made the area smaller.

I agree, im the southwest AO on mvoc, we had it divided up into little areas and started to work quite well, things have changed now as AO's have left ect.....so im doing the whole of the Southwest on my own at the moment and its never going to work, it is really hard work trying to get anybody down this end as its not really that sort of area.

From bristol up is fine, its bristol down that is major hard work.

Even v v o c struggle down this end of the country.....its so hard to get people interested and out and about.

As lee said he has no chance if he has the whole of the SOUTHWEST on his own.

Maybe do cornwall/devon/somerset/avon, thats 4 smaller areas or you could go even smaller.

just my opinion.
