Some of you may have already noticed it:



This is still in BETA testing mode, and it may not be staying since it may have some bugs to fix before it's perfected.

Those of you that use Facebook, should be able to work this easily. Those of you who have never used anything like this before- it's quite simple and self explanatory, so have a mess around with it and you'll soon figure it out.

If you don't want to be pestered by your 'friends', just show as invisible, or go offline.

NOTE: To chat with anyone in this chat feature, you first need to add them as a friend. Click here to find out how to add friends.


Lastly- due to the release of this- I've removed the chatbox on the main forum page for the time being.

This new chat feature uses a lot less sever load, so I'm hoping we can all benefit from it in terms of page load times, as well as still being able to chat with our 'friends'.


If you experience any problems with this new chat, please report them here stating what browser and version you are using, and whether your on a PC or MAC.

I'd like the option to disable it if possible Tom, it don't half make the screen scrolling sloooooooow and jerky, at least on my machine.

Also when it updates itself it steals focus and you type into it as opposed to typing a post lol. Sorry I can't be more positive m8, but that's how it is on my 'puter at the momentyush lol

Having said all that, still prepared to give it a good go

Hmm.. what browser are you using Phil?

It's not possible to disable it at the moment, but if you don't want to use it you should just click 'go offline' in the who's online tab, OR, set yourself to invisible in the chat options tab.

As said it's in the early stages at the moment, and I'm looking to make this better, and add some more features.

I've only tested this in the latest version of Firefox so far, and no problems whatsoever.

Since it uses Ajax & Javascript, it doesn't effect the page load in any way whatsoever, so- It SHOULDN'T be causing any problems in that respect.

Im using firefox 3.0.10 with Windows Server 2000 Prox64 SP2 m8y on y quad core Q6600 with 4gigs of RAM! it's a reet bitchslapper lol!

Like I said m8, more than prepared to give it a go, I know how these things can take a little getting used to before the bugs go bye byes
