 Dannyboy
A Big Hi to the VVon Family. My name is Dannyboy and I am new to the forum. I own a 1998 Vectra B with a 2.5 V6, engine but would like to do the 3.0 upgrade. I am currently on the market for a X30XE (Complete) Can anyone help.

Hello and welcome dude.  Where abouts in the UK are you? The best thing to do would be to buy a cheap 3.0 Sintra or Omega personally. That way you can run it for a little bit and be sure the engine is good before ripping it out. |

Welcome to the site I would go out and buy a omega mot Fail as you then got all the bits you will need Also you can then get a bit of money back By selling what's left

Hello and welcome to the site The 3.0 xe is a good engine probably the best thing for you to do would be to get the gsi OR the 3.0 cam set as the cost of getting a engine too you would really be Expensive I mean hugely expensive with the cams you can get close too 200bhp with the cams and other mods will help plus you have the knoweledge that the engine in ure car is a good one and do you have any pics of ure car? Be good to see if there is any diffrences from a uk one

Hi Matt-m I thought about doing the camshafts upgrade but they cannot be source locally, hence my option to go for the complete engine. No pics of the car yet but i hope to post soon |

If you used the uk ebay site they come up on there normally from breakers who will post abroad the cams are around £80 - £100 in the uk and for a 20bhp ish increase well worth doing fitting a 3.0 with 211bhp (from the factory does seem the better mod but getting the unit too you would be triple what the engine costs cheapist I have seen an engine for is £300 for one removed from a omega with no history I had a 3.2 omega and it didn't feel as quick as the 4 vectra v6's I've had don't get me wrong good engine but I've seen sorted 2.5s make better power and torque from simplely changing cams enlarged throttle body and a good exhaust system and a remap
