the chatbox is in my eyes, the best way for members to communicate about car stuff and general stuff, without it peeps will use the likes of messenger more than visiting the site.

chatboxes are gonna have arguements and fall outs, is is not possible to ban the causers of arguements on the chatbox for a certain amount of time as i dont think its fair on those that use as its intended.

A Good point

On the flip side there have been recent lenghty discussions about cars there.
Which if posted in the forum would have been there for ever and allowed other members to contribute over a longer period of time.

I cant think of another forum i visit which has a chat box so perhaps we have just learnt what every other forum owner already knows.

I dont use messenger or the like as i cant stand them but used to dip in and out of chat box.

Would a chat area / thread in the forum be a good half way house. If this is not abused then and us members can be trusted then perhaps it will return.

yeah keith / mark ur both right there.

its not fair on the members that used it properly and maybe a half way point would be good for now to try and get the chat box back.

think "site support" should knock together a written set of do's and donts for the chat box. i know we had the comment under the chat box before but it wasnt clear imo.
no sales talk, to me didint include looking at a car that some one was going to buy.... but in the same breath it should of been put in a post for EVERYONE input.

were all used to forums and how they run but a new forum like ours is just blossoming and getting bigger everyday, i think we are all on a learning curve as a new forum and we will get there in the end. VVON !!!

i think as far as abusing the chat box goes a bad language filter should be used aswell as its a open forum and anyone visiting doesnt wanna see allsorts of bad swearing goin on they wont wanna be part of that will they its called LEAD BY EXAMPLE its not hard to do if we cant talk without swearing then we aint got anything important to say then have we and thats why there is an over 18 section

the whole site is an over 18 section mate, it says so on the way in.

still doesnt mean all bad language and arguments though does it as admib said people are leaving doesnt this ring bells of vvoc when arguments started and then every one came here now there is arguments here aswell how long before everyone moves on from here too

col thats a massive over exaggeration (spelling) the people that argued this morning where me and mark (cowby) we did the good thing as men and appologised to each other, we both now know the mistakes we made this morning and have each learnt from them. mark isnt leaving us - mark is a very good moderator and also a friend.
everyone cant agree all the time, but its those mature enough to do whats right that keep the good name of such forums. yes we had a barny ish but thats all resolved now me an mark are as normal now there is no falling out etc. this will be old news tomorrow and well forgotten about by all.

so dont worry about it m8 as long as were all adult about the decisions we make, we will all get on fine in the end.
