Default Well I'm really glad it rained here this morning....

Bad News:- From about 7.30am it was hammering down here, had planned to go the scarp yard for some switches.

Good news:- bought a hazard switch for £2.49 off ebay and I have my old original switches + a spare blue led. So I can use the alarm switch from my old set for the door lock mod....changing the std bulb to a blue led shouldn't be that hard.

It would have cost me more to drive over there me thinks plus there's no guarantee the switches would be good, so I've saved money .

The car - warning light came on Weds afternoon doing the school run, parked it up.
Thurs morning nothing then on return it came on, I parked it up then went to collect in afternoon nothing hasn't come on again since???
Fri morning school run nothing...today the car's really loose, not a hit of this weeks issues really nippy.

So WTF can it be my fuel has been low this week - in the red, but today I drove with 30miles left and it was fine.

Hope everyone is well, we had 4 hours of sun now its hammering down again.

I wonder if its actually a sensor being overly-sensitive. Rain and moist days when the sun is hidden means the air is denser, containing more oxygen molecules, therefore the engine breathes easier than at any other time due to the denser air. Its a wildcrack theory, but might explain why in the bad weather you had no issues.

You buy fuel from the same place all the time?

Its possible, so I'm loath to touch while its ok.

I have to remove the bumper this week as I have a few bits to refit:- fog light, re-fit bumper braces and add 2 non-return valves, for the headlight washers.
So I will remove the additional air-pipe under the wing and refit the air filter heat deflector, so its back to std air-induction.

Always buy fuel from Morrisons, the car seems no diff with the hi-oct shell, doesn't like Tesco's.

I have changed the fuel filter a while back...last year, always wondered if the pump filter may need a clean - but that seems fiddly as its in the tank.

Weird that ure car don't like tescos fuel as they all come from the same pump at the refinery place the higher octane stuff is the same too I used to work near the refinery in trafford park manchester and used to see esso bp trucks filling up at the same pump but I agree my red vec didn't like esso or tesco petrol the bmw is worst only likes 98 ron fuel tried bp and shell it prefers optimax but I don't see any diffrence using these better fuels some cars don't like them some do lol

Good one on the hazard switch

are you the man who made the cold air feed kit from terrain glueable?

does it direct rain water onto your filter ?

Tubing yes, but its design includes an inline filter. As Lee has mentioned, possibly an over sensitive sensor. As the engine light will sometimes come on one day after 20 mins, I park and then its off for the rest of the day, remains so no matter how heavy I drive, weird.
Haven't connected op-com as i want to drive for a week or so to build up a list of error codes.

Yesterday was good, started to hammer down on the way to scrappy still went and found loads of bits f.o.c. .

Strange how there are 2 scrap-yards, one cuts the engine out no finesse... the other leaves as is.. has mostly class 4 write-offs, so in theory you can buy the car and dependent on the damage, have a run around.

Let them get on with it their loss, my normal scrappy rings me up when a decent one comes in - but insurers have their favorites ££££ so he doesn't get that many and he knows full well I have the odd bit or three
The one in the pouring rain yesterday are gits with a big G, only my 2nd time there, first time I wanted the twin seatbelt clasps for the rear - they always have broken clips so they don't sit tidy on the seats, he said a couple of ££, spent 2 hrs removing one - only one in yard went to leave he wanted £20...told him to stick it where the sun don't shine - so glad he didn't remember me lol
