Re: job interview advice
First and foremost, always wear a suit and present yourself in the smartest possible way. This means, full suit, shirt and tie, and polished shoes. Your presentation says a lot about who you are. Someone who takes the time to dress correctly, generally takes the same approach to working life. Someone who dresses poorly and looks like they've just dragged themselves out of bed are usually seen as the lazy ones. lol.
This is frst impressions though, so you want to sell yourself as best as possible. Greet your interviewer(s) politely with a smile, and thank them for taking the time to see you. Its all presentation, and manners. You want to project your voice and decorum exactly the same as your smart presentation.
Understand that everyone will be nervous, and the interviewers will also realise that. So take your time, think a second or so before speaking, and relax.
Remember your manners, sit down when asked, not before your asked. Let the interviewers lead, and cionsider your answers before speaking them out loud.
Try to speak clearly, and consider the answers they want to hear. A lot of it will be about you, and they'll want to know how you handle difficult callers as well. So patience, understanding, compassion and calmness will be key.
Also, your previous experience, while not on the phone is still very valuable. You've learned how to reat to people, and deal with difficult, often agressive clients, so make sure you put this across, and make it clear you feel comfortable speaking to people regardless of the reasons.
EDIT: If you have information regarding the job, then a couple of questions towards to end are always good, as it looks like your interested in the position. When your asked if you have any questions at the end, its the ideal time to ask.
NEVER, EVER ask about salary unless your asked. Its a big no no to suddenly bring it up - They'll always discuss this with you before they offer you the job. The interview is all about selling yourself to them, and showing them your suitable for the position. Salary is second to this process. Never mention it unless they ask you directly.
