Default saab 93/95

looking at changing the vec after it passes it's mot stupid car so going saab was going astra coupe but carnt find any decent ones so the missus like the 93/95 so its one of them for me

looking at a 2.0/2.3 turbo due to the performance gains for 400 quid

170bhp to 230bhp for 400quid wont get that much putting a 3.0v6 in the vec for a similar price

at least its still gm branded

a 9-5 turbo
1998 SAAB 9 5 2.0T on eBay (end time 24-Dec-09 16:26:30 GMT)

a 9-3 turbo
1998 SAAB 9-3 SE TURBO BLUE on eBay (end time 23-Dec-09 23:08:18 GMT)

and the tuning company is well known too

AbbottRacing - Saab tuning parts performance accessories repair servicing used
and bsr with prices hmmmmmm power
BSR - Professional Opel tuning and performance technology

The 95 is a low pressure turbo by the looks of it - The Saab 93 is a HPT (Biopower high pressure turbo).

You wont be able to get that sort of power on the low pressure turbo (LPT) engines.

The LPT models dont have a boost gauge on the dash; HPT models (Aero inc) always have the boost gauge above the fuel/temp gauges.

I'd choose the 93 over the 95 given your two examples above. That said, the 93 (2005+ onwards models) are fairly poor for rear space for passengers. I dont know how the old generation 93's are, but I would expect there to be less room on them as they're smaller.

Hope this helps.
