Default Feeling crappy

Had to do a really ****ty thing at work today and drop a friend in it with the Company and Plod for stealing Computers from the Co. and selling them on Ebay. Being chewing over what to do for a few days now and decided friend or not I had to do it, doesn't make me feel any better, knowing he will go down probably for it.

I feel awful as he was a good friend until I stumbled on it by accident.

Right or wrong? or :nono:

There is no right and wrong mate.

But personally, if it's a friend- why stitch him up?

I don't agree with stealing, but I wouldn't grass a mate up just because I thought he was being a bit naughty.

And sorry- that's probably not what you wanted to hear.

I'll grab my coat on the way out...................

Thinking for my own self, it looks like we are having an full audit this week, if they had sprung a random snap audit on us and found the shortfall, we all could have been implicated or under suspicion, this way I and many others are in the clear but still weighs heavy.

I would have had a quiet word with him first off, then would have reported him to a line manager anonymously, everybody gets a little light fingered at work, not always on purpose i'm coming down with screws and wall plugs, but computers?? long winded but i think you done the right thing. no point losing your job if you ain't getting a cut lol

Have you got any nice graphics cards, pmsl Nah, if it's a case of one guy is exposed as a thief, or x number of people are under acute suspicion, then in the words of Mr. Spock: "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few".

As for not grassing a m8 up... A m8 wouldn't risk you getting put in the frame for theft would he? What sort of "m8" would let everyone fall under suspicion, with everything that is implicated with it... look good on the CV wouldn't it...

"Investigated for theft of computer hardware"
Current Status: "Unproved / Lack of evidence"

People would be falling over themselves to give you a job under them circumstances... NOT!
