Default Need some help with a new website project- Can you help?

I new idea that has been inspired by my partner is to create a website that EVERYONE can use.

The senario-

You're looking for someone to do a few jobs around the home/ everyday tasks...

  • You have some laminate flooring, and need someone to come fit it for you.
  • You are at Uni, and have a 5,000 word essay to do, but don't have the time, or simply can't be bothered- You need someone to do it for you.
  • Your car won't start- Have no breakdown cover, and need a mechanic to come have a look at it for you.
You would put up a post on this new website looking for someone to do the task for you, stating how much you're willing to pay, OR, ask for quotes.

Others would then browse the site, looking for jobs in their area, and if they like the sound of it, they can apply for the task.

This site gives a better example of how it would work: Find Local Recommended Tradesmen - ratedpeople.com (Although this is aimed solely at Trades people only.

What I'm looking to achieve is a more 'all-round' coverage.

It's mainly come about after my Mrs telling me about how so many people at uni pay their friends to do their essays for them, and how much easier life would have been if this service was available.

And also the profession she's in now- She's an assistant head teacher, and works an average of 14hrs a day. With her assistant head duties, she is rather struggling to get all her planning prep work done for her lessons- so she's been getting her sister to do simple things like cutting out images, laminating worksheets... time-consuming tasks that she wouldn't mind paying say £20-£30 for someone else to do.

She said that MANY of her work colleagues would be willing to pay someone to do these tasks, and is the main reason I think my concept can work.

Now my problem is- I need to think of a name for the site.. something that's easy to remember, and something that related to the service.

A couple I've thought of are:

But they are both not available.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a domain name for this project?

No matter how daft you think it sounds, your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

handyman.com- I need something to caters for both males & females.. I suppose that could limit my target audience.
finda.com- Domain already taken
ineeda.com- Domain already taken

Not daft at all mate. Nothing is daft when it comes to domain names thesedays... eBay? Why not iBay?

If any of you have an idea, you can check to see if the domain's available by searching here: Register Domain Names - Register Domains at Great Prices - LCN.com

I'm ideally looking for a .COM domain, although I would consider a .CO.UK domain.

thanks chaps, but we need to get away from the 'fix' idea.. Writing an essay for someone isn't 'fixing' it for them.. 'task' maybe? a better word to be working on.
