Default First wash of the new GSI- No doubt it'll turn into as detailing thread!

Never took too many pics as it was freezing cold, and by the end of it, when I were drying it off with the Meg's towel, I was wiping off ice!

So I stopped, and put the car to sleep under his blanket until tomorrow.

I'll let the pics do the talking. Sorry for poor quality of 'After' pics- was using my parents camera that doesn't like the dark!

I must say- that DoDo juice really is good stuff, and smells that nice I wanted to drink it. Although settled for a pint in the end

Is that dodo juice shampoo then?

Those lights would look better on my '200 though!

Yeh and it's VERY good stuff.

The car was absolutely filthy, and before I washed it with the shampoo, I stuck some of it (neat) into a spray bottle, and went round the car, spraying the heavily soiled patches. I then left for about 10-15mins and then power-hosed off; it took most of the heavy dirt off, leaving me with not much to take off with a wipe of the wash mitt.

Off to clay it now, ready for a polish/ wax.

Pics later

Been rather busy with work until mid-afternoon, but managed to go and clay/ wax most of it. I would have finished it, but with just the front bumper left to do, it was getting very dark- so called it a night.

I used Meg's claybar/ quick detailer, Dodo Juice Lime Prime pre-wax treatment, then DoDo Juice Supernatural wax.

I must say- DoDo juice Supernatural wax maybe expensive, but after using this for the 1st time today- I'll now NEVER used anything else. I cannot believe how good it is, and after doing nearly the full car- you wouldn't even think there's any missing from the pot.

I'll give the car about 5 coats of this wax over the next week. I want to leave 24hrs in between each layer.

Never got many pics today... my camera's playing up.

How he was after uncovering him this morning:

I had to run over it again with the meg's drying towel again- obviously this cheap Tesco's car cover isn't waterproof after all!

I then set about it with the clay bar. To give you an example of how dirty it was, this is from just ONE of the front wings:

This was from half of the roof:

And this was from 2 door mirrors:

Sadly- it was very dark by the time I finished, so here's the 'after' pic, of the front bumper which I've not even done yet lol:

More tomorrow

The only problem with the DoDo lime prime is- you'll want to drink it. It really does smell that good lol

claying really does show how much carp gets stuck to the paintwork, amazing stuff Nice finish by the way Tom, usually silver cars don't seem to show a good shine but yours does look nice m8

Thanks Phil. This is why I really fancied a silver Vec saloon as I've seen so many silver vecs that don't shine, but I remember seeing Saimir's old one and that was prob the shiniest Vectra I've ever seen.

I'm not as shiny as his yet, but I think after another 4 layers of wax I'll be getting close lol.

Well it kind of ****ed down this morning, so when I went outside to give it another layer of wax, I was blessed with some sexy beading:

...Although that's not as good as it should be, so clearly- I need a few more layers of wax on there

So, I set about the car with the Meg's drying towel getting rid of all the water:

...I could apply the next coat of wax. This time, I managed to find my Meg's wax applicator pads, which made it easier to apply. I only done the passenger side, as it started to rain yet again, and I could only fit one side of the car under the porch bit to keep it dry!!

Left it on for about 15 minutes, then buffed off with some microfiber towels, and wow what a shine (Sorry camera's a bit poo!):

..Anyway, the rain stopped & started a few times so I never started waxing the rest of the car. Fingers crossed I'll get to do it tomorrow.

I did however give the windows a good clean inside & out using Auto Glym window cleaner (Fantastic stuff!)

I also gave the dash/ trim a quick going over with some Turtle wax dash shining stuff, and washed the carpets with Auto Glym carpet shampoo, but never got any pics due to the camera playing up yet again!!

All that's left to do inside now is give it a good hoover and stick my groovy, durable rubber mats in.

More tomorrow. Although since I had to go out in the car this evening, and thanks to it absolutely HAMMERING down on the way home, I'll need to give it a quick shampoo & rinse before applying the next coat of wax, but that should be a 15 minute job now that the first layer of wax has been applied.

Okaaay... Sorry not updated this yet. TBH there's not really much point now, since my damn camera has packed up! For the last coupel of weeks it's been rather sensitive, and yesterday I lost the plot with it, and gave it a few digs, and a bounce of the wall. It no longer works at all, hence my 'Wanted thread'

I gave it another wash using DoDo juice shampoo, and I was quite chuffed with how easily the dirt came off. Washing the car this time round only took me about 5 minutes:

...Then a further 15 minutes to dry it completely.

BUT THEN....

Yes!... MORE RAIN!!

So I left it at that.

Today I've been outside and finished the 2nd layer of wax, and also gave it the 3rd coat (Just the front bumper to do tomorrow morning).

I must say- it's already, shinier than I ever imagined getting it!

Sadly, that's it now though as I don't have a camera to take any more pics! It'll no doubt start getting dirty from tomorrow anyway as I'll be stripping it down and doing the service & painting a few bits under the bonnet.

Details will be added here about that. I'll also try to borrow a camera and grab some pics
