Besides, the spec doesn't look good enough to power those subs....

3 channel mode: 2 x 100W RMS + 200W RMS for sub

JBL power figures IMO can't be trusted.

I'd sooner buy this tbh- ROCKFORD FOSQAIT 500X PUNCH AMP + JL AUDIO SUBS IN BOX on eBay (end time 16-Oct-09 18:10:26 BST)

Probably be better quality. If you've had JL Audio and Rockford stuff before you'll know what I mean.

However if you're determined to go for those JBL subs, I'd go for something like this. At least those figures would be worthy unlike with some other companies power claims.

Quality not quantity

yeah seen both of those tom, the jl&rockford deal looks old and battered about, i had that same amp 6 years ago so that gives u an idea on age..ive had jbl subs before (the gt3-225 rms and 1800 peak each) has em runnin off that rockford amp and they were good.

also thhat deal is to be sollected and is mmiles away from me tom, if it went for the right price and was nearby i'd get it.

i only really want the jbl's as there cheap and will do till i get around to doin the boot pproperly...of course im open to ideas and suggestions for other makes and models.

and i am indeed neil...did u miss me lol

Ah yeh- never saw where it was.

I've been pretty impressed with Vibe amps in the past.. maybe worth having a look at those.

i've heard that vibes power claims are wildly over rated though, keith told me that when i seen him so thats kinda put me off vibe tbh...maybe keith will have an idea on whats gonna be best to run em off for not silly money as there only cheap subs so no point in goin mad on the price of the amp.

Oh right.. I was told they are pretty accurate with their power claims. Any Vibe stuff I've had has been quite impressive, although fior the money of their subs I know you can buy better.

As for the amps though- good build quality, and as far as I'm concerned- good sound.

Quite fair prices too.

Not sure what other stuff I would recommend tbh... going back a good few years, I had some Alpine amps- they were OK.. the V series. I'd now class those as budget amps, so if you're looking for something cheap, yet does the job you could look into those.

Or another brand for quality- Phoenix Gold. Will be expensive though.. unless things have changed in the last year
