Default Leeky back in a Vectra!

Yep, you heard it here first... I'm back in a Vectra.

Got myself a X registration 2.6 SRi hatch this time around, in L20C black.

Needs some tidying, but drives well, and I'm loving the V6 sounds once again. haha!

I wonder how long my first mod takes this time....

Yes mate, thank you.

After much soldering, and a moment of inspiration, I shorted what should have been the + connector and the battery + using some metal tweezers, and it worked instantly...

So a strip of foil later, its working a treat - it even re-kept its memory and opened the car with the first attempt!!

I'm so glad, had ordered up a new window for the morning, but really wasn't looking forward to breaking it just to get in.

Had best order a new key and fob now - And maybe even new locks, because none of them are working despite crap loads of WD40 and motor oil.

Thanks for the advice earlier though Andy!

No worries. keep at it with the locks, its unreal how stuck they can get. If the key fits the glovebox then its likely the right key. With my mates one, it kind of 'gave' a pin at a time, like initially it was stuck solid, then had say 3 degrees of turn, and eventually all pins worked free and it worked as it should.

I had the oil dripping down his front door haha.

if not then you're probably on the wrong key. Any decent locksmith should be able to make one from the drivers door lock assy.

Any chance of them having a key fob for sale at that scrap yard you mentioned? I've got the blade cut on the horseshoe and have programmed my transponder chip, but cannot find a local scrapy with a fob from a vectra b that was fitted with an alarm.
Thanks

Yeah I plan too. If it doesn't work, I'm just going to get a whole new lock it, replace the whole lot, and use my old transponder chips with the new key setup. I can't see my ECU giving a damn as long as the same chips and remote are presented with the new key shaft.

Its annoying really, as I recently binned two complete locksets, which worked fine before being removed, and were well oiled after as well - you live and learn!

I'll have a word for you mate. Most of the time though they're in worse condition that our "spare" keys, and really not worth re-using. I'm going to take a hunt down there today anyway, as need some bits for the B.
