Default Calibra any good?

Well, we're still looking for a car for Jocelijne...
1 thing is for sure, it's going to be a Vaux...
She is debating between a Vectra, or a Calibra

But, she's seen some Calibra's about...
My question.. are they any good?

I think she would do good with a 2.0...
and, is the 8v any good?

Anybody that can give me some advice on this?

I don't care about age, just want to know what it is I should pay attention to..

heading off to Edinburgh somewhere next weekend, or the weekend thereafter, and have seen a couple there....

Thanks!

the calibra is a good car but if you have kids you may find it awkward to get them in

and treat it like a cavalier as that what they are underneath and check for the normal stuff rust and accident damage the 8v is a great engine i had 2 gtes with that engine although one had a turbo fitted lol and they are easy to work on and easy to fix

As above.

Never owned a Calibra, but owned a big power V6 Cavalier, and it was super reliable.

A 2.0 8v is by far the best of the lot for your wife. The engine is simple, cheap to keep running and works a charm. Being more basic (as its older) you get none of the super fancy injection crap associated with newer engines.

They're also cheaper as most tend to go the 16v/turbo/V6 route too.

They're not the best for kiddies, but ideal for occasional family use.

Thanks for all these comments.... so all in all it is a good car...
Jocelijne doesn't care about power, although she likes the power in the Vec, she prefers looks...
And, a Calibra sure looks good.... so I guess we will have to take a look..

She's seen one, but way too far for me to drive... (450 miles from Inverness )

1991 VAUXHALL CALIBRA PINK on eBay (end time 23-Jul-10 19:56:17 BST)

It's a bit pink I would say, but hey, if she likes it.... I'm sure it will look good on her...
