Then your best bet is of the two options, none of which are easy:
- You fit a C20LET (Calibra/Cav Turbo engine). Among loads of other things you will be wanting an F28 6spd gearbox, with a 2wd blanking kit, possibly the X20XEV loom to splice into, and different engine mountings. Its possible you can use your X25XE loom, but unlikely! You also need the C20LET engine loom, electrical sensors, and ECU etc. You then need an X20XEV dash, and I'm not even sure how its wired up as I've never done it.
- You fit a Z20LET (new gen 2.0 turbo used in Astra/Vectra/VX220 etc). This is mental work. You need the full drive by wire setup, the wiring loom, accelerator pedal sensors, engine loom etc. You then also need an F23 or F40 gearbox. Then you can wire the LET into the existing loom, utulising the ECU for that engine. Again mega work.
- Fit a X25XE or Y/Z32SE engine, which is far less work. You can reuse everything already in place, and your just stripping down the engines sump only if its from an Omega and thus has a RWD sump pan orientation among other things. You reuse your old gearbox (though a new clutch is recommended), and the engine electrics, and all sensors and ancillaries are from the donor X25XE engine.
Unless its a spare car, and you have serious patience, not to mention very good electrical diagram reading skills and the ability to resolve technical problems your never going to achieve it. Changing the engine alone is enough work for even moderately skilled mechanics. I've even seen qualified mechanics struggle with the work involved in my time in the trade.
Unless you can buy everything off the shelf you are the one thats going to make it work. Its not as simple as just fitting something in the engine bay.. wiring is a sodding nightmare for Z20LETs..
I remember seeing a picture a member took on VVOC years ago of another members Z22SE powered Vectra being Z20LET converted... Half of the loom was exposed in the engine bay, and it looked a right mess. The end result was impressive, mainly because the person who did the job could understand, but most crucially could read both looms and thus could splice the right wires in the right place. Top respect to that guy, he knows his stuff!
I wish I'd saved the picture, because even but the most diehard would very quickly change their mind.
Without trying to offend you, your best bet is to just either fit the X30XE, or the Y/Z32SE engines. These are a near direct replacement of your engine, and electrics arent really an issue.
I've been messing with cars for years, I know a little bit about Vauxhall's (esp Vectras), and I'm fortunate enough to be very qualified as a mechanic, but even with my experience the task of fitting an engine thats not meant to be is a puzzle that takes time, patience and the occasional mistake to achieve. Its not easy, and you should be under no illusions of this fact.
I'm not trying to put you off, but you do need to be realistic.
