Default argh!!!!! Bleeding Saab!!

Grr, I went out in it this morning, and as I went to park it in town, the display flashed up "Alternator failure, contact Saab ASAP, battery no longer charging" Great I thought!! Then as fast as it appeared it disappeared so I didnt think anything of it...

Until.... I left town, and my power steering stopped working after driving 100m! Grr, my alternator is dead as a door nail, the battery is buggered and as such the power steering stopped working (its electro-hydraulic!)...

...So called RAC as by the time I stopped the steering wheel just wouldnt move at all.. They arrive 30 mins later, then lift my car home.

So I now have the alternator and battery to replace... How gutting!! Its looks like its going to be a bitch too, as it doesnt look like it will come out the top full stop, and there is sod all room between the driveshaft and the chassis leg - So maybe the driveshaft needs to come out V6 stylee... Double, triple Grr with a big argh as well!!!

So to sum it all up, I'm seriously ****ed off!!

Omg, I've just been very kindly given a .pdf of the original works instructions, and its a mare of a job... The driveshaft, lower arm, lower engine cover, all the inner arch liners and christ knows what else... Its a 19 page long document with instructions! argh!!!!

Think I'm going to need to enlist the help of my mate Speedy for this; I'll wreck my back otherwise!

I'm still annoyed with my Saab though! I treated it to a full 72k service, with all genuine parts, a new cambelt and brake pads and loads of stuff. This is how she repays me...Grr! pmsl. Only got 69,802 miles on the clock too!

Oh well, guess its another expense to add to a growing list that doesnt seem to be disappearing. lol.

Thanks for the compliment. pmsl.

Its OK really, I needed to check the front end for this knocking noise anyway, so I can do it all at the same time - I might even paint my calipers with bright yellow hammerite paint too.

Its going to be a little while til I sort it now anyway, as I simply just dont have the money right now.
