either get rid of the vec (had it nearly two years now, longest ive kept a car by Far) or keep it and go mental on it, was wanting to put a vec vxr engine in it, but the wage involved was ridiculous, so now searching for other engines either not been put in a vec or VERY rare...ideas welcome lol

Two different ideas...
Saab 9-3 2.8 Turbo engine (VXR engine basically - much cheaper if you buy the saab version!)
Saab 9-3 (HOT) Aero turbo engine.
Saab 9-5 3.0 V6 LPT engine. (essentially a X30XE with slight differences - Oh and a light pressure turbocharger!
Vauxhall VXR/Turbo engines will cost a bomb... the other day I nearly purchased a 2.8 V6 Turbo engine from a crash damaged 9-3 Aero for £750 - Including absolutely everything, trans, engine, subframe, electrics, wiring, ecu's, mounts..the whole lot... Bargains are out there for Saab engines.
Both are different, and if your patient you can get one for a very good price!
Both will be a nightmare to wire in, so I'd recommend for custom standalone management, or on a budget Megasquirt.
You'll also have fun with the engine mountings too. Probably loads of other issues, but if you wanna go mental they'll both be ideal.
