141k, some history- Belts changed last at 110k... does this mean they are due son? At what mileage? Expensive job?
Also he doesn't have the full V5 as just got the car, but I'm guessing that if I get the little green slip, and a receipt from him, I'll be covered from any fraudulent activity?
These are the only things holding me back at the moment as I think it seems a nice car, despite the minor bodywork problems which I could sort out.

Its against the law to sell a car without the full V5 logbook, punishable with a big fine, possibly for the buyer as well. Its something to seriously consider!! Personally, no matter how good the offer, I wouldn't purchase a car without it as you have no excuses.
As for the cambelt change, check your other thread as I'm sure I told you when it was due in there? If not, I'll check autodata later on once I'm on the pc again.
Otherwise the car looks nice mate.
EDIT: It would seem I might be incorrect regarding selling a car without a V5. I swear I read it somewhere or on TV, but I can't find it on direct.gov.uk or DVLA for some reason. Make sure the car is HPI clear from someone like RAC though (dont use txt check, its crap!), and ask for the DOC number on the green slip so you can check its history using online MOTs, a phone call to DVLA to confirm the V5 details are correct etc.
I still wouldnt purchase it without the V5, but it depends on how much risk you perceive it to be.

Cheers for that info I'll call DVLA and see what they say before going any further.
As for cambelt change I'll have a look @ the other thread.

with regards to this mate, spoke to the mrs mother who has just retired from the dvla after 35 + years
she has said it isnt against the law to sell the vehicle without the FULL V5, but she recommends you get the V5(c) green section of him with a printed reciept showing your name and his, date of sale and time of sale, this then protects you. this also means you can send off for the full V5 without having to pay the fee you just enclose the green section and sales receipt.

Thanks for that Busby, although the new car I'm getting (Not this one) has a full V5 etc (Here it is ), but that info is handy for future reference not just for me, but for others as well. Cheers.
BTW- Nice looking VAG! Can't believe everyone is going VW now lol.. that's 3 of us that I know of!
I must stress though- That I'm pretty damn sure I will be back in a V6 Vectra, no doubt within a year lol.
