Default F23 Gear shaft replacement

Might buy the part and fix mine but need to know what I need exactly.

I know I need the gear knob and shaft that it is WELDED onto.. but is that all I need? I mean- Does the SHAFT separate from the bottom housing (which is plastic), or do I need the complete unit?

There's a few breaking on the bay at the moment so was going to ask how much they want, but without knowing the name of the bit(s) I need I can't really ask them

I could be wrong, but I do think the housing has to come off. The design is different to rod operated shifters.

Its not too much work though, just fiddly and annoying, but I'd be doing it whether I kept it or not. lol. Your torx screws look a bit funny looking!

Take the gaiter off and have a look Tom.

I've had the gaitor of numerous times, but can't see how to remove it, or what needs to come off.

Got some pics somewhere from last time I took the gaitor off.. will have a look see if I can find them.

I'd imagine the cables need removing, and the the gearshift housing needs to be removed and replaced. I'm not sure it splits as its a totally different design to the rod operated versions.
