Default Which coilover kit?

Due to this, I urgently need a new setup, and think going down the coilover route seems the best option.

Ideally, I want these, but cannot justify that price at the moment.

So between these, and these- Which should I go for?

Anyone have any of the above? Feedback?

Saw a lot of mixed thoughts about the HotTuning coilover kit, and always said I wouldn't buy them.. but they are a temp stop-off until I can afford some KW Coilovers, so open to feedback for them

i bought some cols over hottunning for mine and seem to have not been able to set them up right and not rally happy with them Tom, As for there customer service it is wank, took me nearly 6 weeks to get a replacment shocker for a mate and now another shocker has gon fauilty onhis car, hence he has removed them,

As for the other i can not comment on them but sure Rob has just put there on his car and is chuffed with them

Little tip when you or buy some, spray them with clear laqure to protect the struts etc as min have gone all fury so to say.

But why not just buy a replacment part if you have been very happy with them Tom

Thanks Neil.

That's those out the window then

Yeh Rob's just bought some, but not had them long so can't really give me the feedback I'm looking for on them.

Yes I could probably just buy a replacement shocker, but you're supposed to replace suspension components in pairs, are you not?

Besides.. I only know mine are 'Cobra'.. since they were fitted when I bought the car, I don't have a clue which model they are.. they do a few different ones for the Vectra V6.

And lastly- If I whack some coilovers on- I can slam it on it's arse, and remove the front splitter... MAYBE

put it this way if you have the money then yes replace the pair but alot of ppl cannot afford to do this and will just replace the one damaged, i will also assure you that it will make no difference with just the one replacement, it will be fine

I've got FK's on mine been on over 2 years, very happy with them as well.

The JOM would be the ones to go for as they are proper coil overs, the Hot Tuning ones look like the springs are separate, as there are 2
photos its odd.

Also as I'm sure you are aware it's best to get them set up properly.

Thanks Mike.

Any link to the FK's you have got?

And yes.. I'll get them setup properly. Although as far as I can tell.. the kits I've mentioned are only height adjustable.. none have camber adjustment?

I thought camber adjustment wasnt usually featured on coilovers, but higher spec ones you could adjust the rebound and stiffness.

Personally, I wouldnt settle for second best: If you want KW's, then wait and get KW's. Get your shock assembly repaired in the meantime, and then wait til you can afford the coilovers.

As for replacing suspension (I dont want to offend you Neil but) they should always be replaced in pairs. Whether in an ideal world that happens or not is another question, but they should however be replaced in axle pairs regardless. That applies to shocks and springs. The vast majority of the time it makes little to no difference, but an old, worn shock against a perfectly good one will alter the handling characteristics on that side of the car. For the sake of safety, change in pairs - You wouldnt just change one side of the brakes and leave the other side unchanged, the same applies to suspension shocks and springs.

P.S. Tom I found this through RSS using Outlook... Its working a treat! Cheers.

Hmm.. maybe right with that Lee (Camber adjustment may only be on shocks, not coilovers too).

Think I'm going to go with the Joms.. I know what you're saying Lee, but I may not be able to afford the KW's for another year.. I have other things (As you know), that will be done first.. such as the 3.2 conversion (ETC )

Going to order some on Monday, so keep ideas coming in on coilovers folks.. if you know of any at £230 or below, and worthy of buying.

£229.99 on eBay seems rather good for these JOMS.. going by this anyway.

At that price I'm even tempted to ditch the Koni's and fit JOM as well!!
