Default symptoms of Head Gasket fail...

housten...we have a problem....

coolent loss...check
white smoke...check...
engine running lumpy/loss of compression...check...

bugger


right before meet day as well...


no mayo on the underside of the cap...great..
no water in the expansion bottle.....not good
no water underneath car.....so im guessing its all in the engine...ah sh*t!!!

and i cant do anything to help it because im in work....

how long is the coolant lasting before you need to top up mate.

i havnt even run it back up...as soon as i saw the white at the back, i stopped the engine and walked away...

You'll need to compression test it Dahmich... You can also drain the sump and see if its full of coolant as well as another indication.

Sounds like a head gasket though, but as I said, do a compression check. If you have a leak, it wont hold compression on one or two cylinders.

i spent a lot of time delibrating, the money ive already put into it (and not going to see back) the time and effort to get this car how I want it just isnt viable

sorry guys....its going to the great scrapyard in the sky...

for your info...it was cyclinder number 3 that died and yep, complete head gasket fail, all the water had emptied itself into the engine, dumped the oil and had a beautifull mix of the two

with my funds as they are, i have to cut my losses where they stand, and try and recoup something back...parts availible will be listed soon, this decision hasnt been made on a whim, its the best option, as much as i dont like it....
