ok ive got this narrowed down now. If i allow the car to heat up ( about 3 mins) - and wait for the whirring noise goes off, then the eml will never come on. If i don't allow it to heat up, itl cut out with the eml light on first chance it gets. Its not an issue as its never done it since ive started warming her up first - just a bit odd!

sounds like the crank sensor, get it looked at, my mate did mine...want him to look at it alaina ?

ok gave him a quick phone he says it sounds like ur temp sensor or something similar, if u can get it up tonight he'll look at it for u
